May You Live Long

A simple yet powerful song that prays for the long live of His Holiness the Dalai Lama from Tibet. This became a beloved song for its lyric as well as for its music both inside and outside.

Another version of the song by another singer:

May you live long

The Buddha of Compassion, Cherezig
the one who protects the sentient being,
and lifts us from this karmic cycle.
His Holiness the Tenzin Gyatso
May you live long.

  1. I am very impressed with the Tibetan cultural resistance movement. May you grow ever stronger.
I would very much like to write about Tibetan art of resistance in my blog (address above) and seek permission use videos. All material will be properly credited according to the producers’ wishes. Please let me know if I have your permission and credits to use.
    With thanks,
